About Me

I'm Abdulkadir — a Muslim from the UK, now living in Madinah.

For years, I made du'a to live and study in the Prophet's city. In May 2024, Allah opened that door. I arrived excited… but unprepared — no plan, no mentor, no guide.

That led to mistakes:

  • Friends fined for overstaying visas by days.
  • People nearly scammed by "helpers."
  • Families wasting time, money, and energy on avoidable problems.

I created Loving Madinah so you can skip those mistakes and start strong — whether you're here to study, raise a family, or experience life near Masjid an-Nabawi.

Why I Wrote the Guide

Like many, I thought studying here meant entering the Islamic University. Then I discovered free halaqahs, Qur'an centres, Arabic programs, and local schools open to everyone.

After a year of trial and error, I wrote the guide I wish I had — packed with:

  • Real visa options that work
  • Where to live for your budget & needs
  • Actual cost of living (with examples)
  • Study opportunities for men, women & kids
  • What to do the day you land

Not Hijrah — But Still a Blessing

I don't call this Hijrah — many will return home — but it's still a noble step.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Madinah is better for them, if only they knew." (Bukhari & Muslim)
